LAY PASTORAL CARE

The Lay Pastoral Care Committee is a lay ministry created to provide caring assistance and prayer to the parishioners at St. Peter's. Whenever a need arises, members of the ministry have responded with great love and compassion. They have prepared and delivered meals, made hospital and home visits to the sick and to shut-ins, and offered hours of prayer to our Lord for those in need.

The ministry includes:

  • Prayer Chain - Cathy Apple at cathy_apple@sbcglobal.net

  • Hospital and Home Visitation - Deacon Betty Breyfogle at bbreyfogle@stpetersmckinney.com

  • Feeding the Soul - Vicki Cobbs at vickicobbs@gmail.com

"Feeding the Soul" is a new ministry at St. Peter’s to reach out to our parish members in need of meals, encouragement, or in times of illness.
A supply of homemade soup prepared by members will be kept frozen at the church. The soup can be defrosted, heated and delivered with a loaf of bread to any parish member in need during times of illness, family crisis, or in need of encouragement to let them know that the St. Peter’s church family cares for them.
You can support this ministry by providing extra helpings of homemade soup (with a list of ingredients) you prepare from time to time and also by letting the clergy or us know when someone is in need. Containers in various sizes are available from a volunteer. Arrangements can then be made for delivery by volunteers. You may also pick up the soup and deliver it yourself.
St. Peter’s wants to “Feed the Soul” and body of each parish family member at times of need.
