Community of Hope

Community of Hope International  - St. Peter’s McKinney training center

The objective of the Community of Hope is:  “To create and sustain Christian communities of lay pastoral care givers united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality, and equipped for and serving in pastoral care ministries.”  There is an initial 42 hour curriculum with topics including Benedictine spirituality, listening skills, confidentiality, prayer and meditation, and grief.  After training each person makes a decision for commitment to this ministry annually. There are regularly scheduled meetings called “Circle of Care” for sharing insights in following the Rule of Benedict to seek balance between doing for God and being with God, for concerns, for planning and for continuing education.
