Empty Bowls

Empty Bowls McKinney is an annual fund-raising event that brings together artists and the community to “fight hunger one bowl at a time.”

Easter Basket Ministry

The Easter Basket Ministry is made up of parishioners who donate items and their time to fill and deliver an Easter meal and Easter items to those in need. Each year, we do more and more baskets and make an even bigger impact in our community.

Christmas Angel Ministry

Christmas Angels is our own angel tree filled with families in McKinney who are in need. We provide them with clothes, toys, and other requested items at a reception in mid-December. In addition, kids get to choose and wrap gifts for their parents, parents get to choose toys for their kids, and all get to partake of Christmas goodies.

2×2 Special Needs Ministry

2×2 Special Needs Ministry gives children with intellectual or developmental disabilities a group of friends in which to flourish, and it also gives their family members a respite one Saturday morning per month. Families drop their children off at 2×2 in the parish hall of St. Peter’s, where they play games, learn, and have fun together. We also run a 2×2 week of VBS each summer.

Mission Trips

St. Peter’s takes mission trips regularly, and has worked in New Orleans, Honduras, San Antonio, Austin, and in McKinney also. We are working on a trip to south Texas to help with hurricane relief after Harvey. Contact Mtr. Kathy for more information: kgarrett@stpetersmckinney.com.

Burks Elementary School

There are many opportunities to volunteer at Burks Elementary School. We have projects such as workdays, supply drives, and snacks for faculty meetings. We also have weekly commitments such as mentors, book clubs, and tutors.

Volunteer Partners

At St. Peter’s, we are a neighborhood church that cares deeply about our community. Outreach has become part of our DNA. We provide plenty of opportunities for people to volunteer with various partner organizations around McKinney, and we have many parishioners who volunteer regularly with these organizations.
