At St. Peter’s, we are a neighborhood church that cares deeply about our community. Outreach has become part of our DNA. We provide plenty of opportunities for people to volunteer with various partner organizations around McKinney, and we have many parishioners who volunteer regularly with these organizations.
Community Lifeline Center
Community Lifeline Center exists to provide firm footing to those experiencing temporary crisis. Their needs may range from financial support to goods and services. For more information, contact Jamie St. Clair (972-562-1166).
Community Garden Kitchen
The Community Garden Kitchen is a free standing building adjacent to Holy Family School that will serve as a kitchen for the students and a place for the community, as well as meals for those in need in the evening. For more information, contact Angela Poen (972-727-1689).
Shiloh Place is a ministry to single moms and their children that offers housing, childcare and tuition assistance for up to two years. Their purpose is to come along side homeless, single moms, deeply invest in each individual over the course of their time with us (up to two years), and then celebrate them as they move back into self-sufficient living. For more information, contact Judy Shaw (214-837-7323) or check out Shiloh Place’s volunteer opportunities.
St. Peter’s Community Cupboard
Our free community cupboard, available to anyone in need, is located outside of the Terrill House on Lamar St. We are now a well known community stop. Please help us continue to make this cupboard a year round stocked pantry. We would like to continually have water, toilet paper and paper towels available. Other helpful items include pop top canned food. Please bring bulk items to the church office so the cupboard can be restocked as needed or put any donations in the church donation bin. You can always place items directly in the cupboard at any time! Contact Kaye Woolery Moreno (972-571-1156).
