In today's Gospel, Jesus begins a blistering critique of the pharisees and scribes, the religious leaders of their day. Jesus does not speak in such harsh words to 'sinners', but he blasts the religious leaders.
Many of his criticisms ring true to Christians. We are called to put our faith into action, be sincere, and have our religion help people.
Being a Christian takes commitment and Jesus holds His followers to a higher standard.
