There is only one reason to give of your money: because you are thankful for all that God has given you. If you are thankful, you give. If you are not thankful, don't give. God has given you so much, and he wants us to be thankful. The way you show your thankfulness is to give him back a portion of what He has already given you. The Bible calls you to give intentionally (with a plan, not the leftovers) and sacrificially (so that it effects the way you live your life). As your priest, I want you to give because I love you, and I have learned that intentional, sacrificial giving is a blessing.
