Sept 25 - Who is your Lazarus?

Sept 25 - Who is your Lazarus?
Henri Nouwen said that we are free to be compassionate when we stop judging and evaluating our neighbors. He's right. Sometimes we ignore the Lazarus lying at our gate because we have judged him. Sometimes the judgment is true: Joe's a drug addict. But that single truth is never the whole truth. We never know some one's whole story and we don't need to. All we need to know is that Joe needs something: a hot meat, a shower, someone to ask him how his day was, respect, a dab of Neosporin and a bandage for his dignity.
