Make No Distinction

Have you ever noticed how many divisions we make in our lives between those who are like us and those who are different? The story of Jesus and the Syrophonecian woman is about breaking down the barriers that divide us. If we say we believe in Jesus, but keep our own walls up, we’re depriving ourselves and the church of something we need in order to thrive and flourish. Our faith requires us to reach out our arms in love, and it won’t survive if we don’t. Are there barriers in your life that you need to remove in order to love more deeply?

About The Author

Fr. Perry Mullins is the Rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in McKinney. He grew up an Episcopalian. During college and afterward, he worked in youth ministry in San Antonio and Austin, and then entered the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. Fr. Perry loves preaching, teaching, and outreach, and still has a heart for children’s and youth ministries. He was called to be Rector of St. Peter’s in 2017. He is married to Sarah, and they have two children.
