Adult Choir

The St. Peter’s Choir is a group of adult singers open to high school students and adults of all ages who are committed to enriching our worship with excellent musical offerings. They provide leadership for the weekly 11 A.M. liturgy as well as Choral Evensong, Christmas Lessons & Carols, Easter, and other special services and concerts throughout the year. Anyone that loves to sing and use their voice to praise God is welcome to join.  We do not have a formal audition. Contact the Choir Master about your interest, then come to rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:00  to 8:30 P.M. at the church.  Section leaders help you to learn your part, and we have fun while learning the music.  Anthems are rehearsed for several weeks in advance so if you have to miss a rehearsal, you feel confident singing on Sunday morning.  Warm up is at 10:15 A.M. in the choir loft each Sunday morning.

Choristers: 3rd – 8th Grades

The choristers sing in church about once a month during the school year. This choir is a fun way to learn musicality and utilizes the Royal School of Church Music teaching program, a renowned tool for teaching children to use their voices to the best of their ability. The children in the program earn medals along the way and have a strong group of friends in the choir.

Cherub Choir: Age 4 – 2nd Grade

The cherub choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. There is a family meal that begins at 5:45 P.M. and adult education during the kids’ programming. The group sings in church about once a month during the school year. This choir is all about having fun and making a joyful noise together!

Royal School of Church Music

St. Peter’s is an affiliate member of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and children and youth choirs benefit from the RSCM’s Voice for Life curriculum. The motto of the RSCM, “I will sing with the spirit and with the understanding also” (1 Corinthians 14:15), is shared by a worldwide network of over 8,000 churches, schools and individuals. Through this system, choristers may earn special recognition for their achievements in choir, being awarded different levels of ribbons and medals, which they wear proudly along with their vestments for sung liturgies.
