Children’s Formation

Children are our most precious gifts from God. It is an awesome responsibility that God has given us to help them grow into faithful Christian adults. St. Peter’s provides a safe, loving, and consistent environment in which children are able to learn and develop their personal relationship with Jesus. We believe that community is essential in the lives of children, and we make it a priority to provide an atmosphere where all children feel included.

Children’s Chapel (3 yrs – 2nd grade)

Room 3
9:00-9:35 A.M. & 11:00-11:35 A.M.

Children’s Chapel is open to ages 3 years through 2nd grade. Our chapel follows the order of service in the 9am & 11am services. Children are able to familiarize themselves with the service in order to be prepared when they enter church in 3rd grade. Children also have age appropriate hymns, a homily and an activity. They may be dropped off at the start of either the 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service, and they are returned to their parents during or just after the peace. Parents interested in leading children’s chapel are invited to stay and observe the service.

Godly Play

Room 1 (3-5 yrs) & Room 7 (K-2nd gr.)
10:10 A.M. – 10:50 A.M.

All children 3 years through 2nd grade are invited to participate in Godly Play, a Christian Formation class designed just for them. Based on Montessori curriculum, Godly Play incorporates hands-on materials, personalized artwork, and a quiet atmosphere in which children self-pace their exploration of the age-old stories of God’s people. Above all, it is a time set aside specifically to nourish the young child’s own relationship with God.  Come play with us!

Spark (3rd – 5th)

Room 3
10:10 A.M. – 10:50 A.M.

Children in grades 3-5 participate in a curriculum called Spark. Spark follows the lectionary so your child will have an opportunity to hear lessons from the day on their level. They spend time working together and learning from each other as they strengthen their relationships with Christ.
