The Rt. Rev. Michael Smith

The Rt. Rev. Michael G. Smith served as bishop of the Diocese of North Dakota for fifteen years before being called as the part-time Assistant Bishop of Dallas. For three months of the year, he is in residence in Dallas. Most of the time, however, he is on the road or at home in Minnesota with his wife, the Rev. Lisa White Smith. They are the parents of three adult children and grandparents of nine. Smith serves as Convener of the Communion Partner Steering Committee, is a Benedictine Oblate, and assists in the Episcopal Church in Navajoland. He holds Doctor of Ministry and Master of Social Work degrees and is working on a certificate in Spiritual Direction. Originally from Oklahoma, he is an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation there, served congregations on the White Earth Ojibwe Nation of Minnesota, and has been active on a national level with theological education in Indian Country.

Richard Caperton

Richard Caperton is The SRD Group’s President & Managing Partner.  Richard’s passion is to assist churches and faith based ministries in reaching their potential.  His 20 years as an Executive Pastor and 24 years as a stewardship coach, provides him with an understanding of the uniqueness of the church community. Richard has led more than 120 successful capital programs, generating in excess of $800 million for local ministry.  His personable approach and motivational style make him an effective consultant in a multitude of traditions and ministry styles. Most recently, Richard has helped The First Baptist Church in Dallas Texas raise over $130 million.  Before that, Richard helped the Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington, Illinois raise in excess of $80 million. Most recently the Church of the Incarnation Episcopal, Dallas, TX surpassed their goal and raised $31 million, the most ever by an Episcopal church. The combination of his keen analytical skills and charismatic personality make Richard a sought after consultant and speaker. Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Louisiana College, Pineville, Louisiana and a Master’s degree from the Southwestern Seminary, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Richard is regularly invited to speak on the subject of church growth and stewardship.  As a pastor and leader, Richard knows first hand the intricacies of capital stewardship programming from the leader’s perspective.  Richard’s viewpoint and pastoral experience are invaluable in his work as a stewardship consultant. A resident of Dallas, Richard and his wife Judy have two grown children and four grandchildren.

Steve Pixler

Teaching & Tongues – October 10

Steve & Jeana Pixler live with their six children in Mansfield, TX and serve as pastors at Freedom Life Church Mansfield. Steve is a writer, speaker and creator, developing content across many media platforms through music, books, podcasts and videos. Steve holds a Masters in Leadership and serves Christ in the marketplace as a business coach, real estate agent and investor.

Jerusalem Greer

Evangelism – October 17

Jerusalem Greer is the Staff Officer for Evangelism for The Episcopal Church in the Office of the Presiding Bishop, and member of the Way of Love creation and leadership team. Additionally, she is on the Council of Advice for Episcopal Relief & Development and served on the board of Forma: The Network for Christian Formation. She lives with her husband and two sons on a hobby farm in rural Arkansas and is the author of At Home in this Life: Finding Peace at the Crossroads of Unraveled Dreams and Beautiful Surprises, and A Homemade Year: The Blessings of Cooking, Crafting and Coming Together, as well as several curricula.

Stella Hyman

Healing – October 24

Stella received training in healing ministries under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Sharon Lewis.  She has functioned in this capacity for almost 20 years.  She is a member of Women of Grace Ministries and traveled to Rwanda to minster to survivors of the genocide that occurred there.  Her love for missions has taken her to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and British Columbia, to name a few places. Stella is married and lives with her husband, Owen, in their home church where they Praise the Lord with all their whole hearts (Psalm 9:1).
